Shaun Avis leaves Lakenheath FC

Manager Ben Cowling hugs striker Shaun Avis following his FA Vase third round hat-trick, including a stunner in the 94th minute.

The Club can confirm that centre-forward Shaun Avis has left Lakenheath on a permanent deal to Bury Town FC after tonight’s game against Sheringham.

Shaun leaves a Club legend, scoring some of our most important goals in the Club’s history, winning both silverware and promotions with us. He scored 101 goals in all competitions since he joined in the summer of 2019.

First-team manager Ben Cowling had this to say:

“Whilst we are naturally disappointed at losing Shaun we hope he makes the most of the opportunity to play at Step 4. Shaun has scored plenty of goals here which has helped in the clubs development and progress, in turn I think we have given him an environment where he has enjoyed his football and thrived. It has been a pleasure to work with Shaun and I wish him all the best going forward.”

The Club would like to fully place on record our appreciation for everything Shaun has done for us, and how well he has conducted himself over the past 3 years - both on the pitch and off the pitch.
